Francis OlaboroBack to No Little Kindness' music This is one of a few groups that Jeremy recorded in Uganda last summer while he was there for work, filming for a documentary focused on poverty and those helping the poor. Francis Olaboro and the Abilaep Choir live in a small village in eastern, central Uganda, in the district of Soroti. This recording was made in a small brick church with a corrugated tin roof, dirt floors, with missing windows and doors. The choir gathered around the mics and let loose for almost three hours. All songs are sung in the local language, Ateso. There will be more details coming soon about Francis Olaboro and the Abilaep Choir, as well as the Soroti district and Uganda in general. This is part of a CD project to help raise funds for the community of Serere, whose already dire situation has just worsened with some of the worst flooding this region of Africa has ever seen. These sample songs are straight from the DAT recording, with no mixing or mastering…raw from the source. Please check back soon to get the upcoming CD including music from UFCA, Francis Olaboro, and the Gulu Cathedral's morning mass. |
